Dubai-based jewelry brand Zome draws inspiration from the cosmos for its captivating 'Celestia' collection, a 15-piece tribute to the wonders of the universe. Among its standout pieces are the 'Solara' earrings, which poetically embody celestial beauty.

Celestial Inspiration and Design

The 'Solara' earrings, described by the brand as capturing the 'poetry of orbit,' feature gemstones artfully arranged in a circular, orbit-like design. This design reflects the brand's founder and designer, Meghna Biswas's, fascination with the harmony found in nature and architecture. Biswas established Zome with the aim of combining artistry with exceptional materials, with a particular focus on colored gemstones like tourmalines and sapphires.

Biswas explained the inspiration behind the 'Solara' earrings: 'Solara was inspired by the graceful movement of celestial bodies revolving around a radiant center. The aquamarine represents the calm brilliance of a guiding star, while the surrounding tourmalines echo the planets in orbit. Together, they form a delicate universe—a reminder that beauty often lies in harmony, balance, and movement.'

Gemstones and Craftsmanship

The exquisite 'Solara' earrings are crafted from 18-karat rose gold and showcase a total of 7.34 carats of carefully selected gemstones. A central aquamarine symbolizes a guiding star, encircled by vibrant tourmalines representing orbiting planets. This combination creates a piece that signifies a miniature, balanced universe.

The 'Solara' earrings were among the initial 20 pieces launched by Biswas for Zome in March 2024. The brand's philosophy centers on honoring the inherent beauty of rare gemstones, designing pieces worthy of their unique qualities. 'For me, every gemstone holds a universe within it,' Biswas stated. 'Zome was created to honor those rare stones and give them a design worthy of their beauty.'

Priced at $4,750, the 'Solara' earrings are available for purchase on the Zome website. Additionally, Zome jewelry can be found at select retailers in Dubai, including Poison Drop and Kulture House. The brand is also considering expanding its reach to the United States market.
