Strategic Focus and Fiscal 2027 Outlook
Looking ahead to Fiscal 2027, Signet Jewelers plans to accelerate core performance through sharpened brand differentiation, broader customer reach, and a more seamless in-store and digital experience. This strategic focus is part of the second year of its 'Grow Brand Love' strategy, aimed at strengthening the company’s foundation for sustainable long-term growth.
The company provided its guidance for Fiscal 2027, projecting total sales to be in the range of $6.6 billion to $6.9 billion. Same-store sales are expected to range from a decrease of 1.25% to an increase of 2.5%. Signet anticipates adjusted operating income between $470 million and $560 million, with adjusted diluted EPS projected to be between $8.80 and $10.74. This guidance considers a dynamic tariff, commodity, and consumer environment, and includes an estimated $60 to $80 million in net revenue loss due to the transition of the James Allen brand.
Key Initiatives and Brand Strategy
Signet is undergoing a significant transformation, with a core focus on its three largest brands: Kay, Zales, and Jared. The company is working to differentiate these brands, enhance their assortments with more style and design-led items, and elevate the bridal jewelry offering. Blue Nile is being repositioned to focus on elevated luxury anchored in natural diamonds, aiming to expand reach to higher-income households.
In line with its efficiency goals, Signet is centralizing certain functions and consolidating some brands. James Allen will transition to a proprietary collection within the Blue Nile website, with jamesallen.com set to be discontinued in the second quarter. The Rocksbox private label fashion assortment will become a proprietary collection within Kay. The company also indicated that its overseas brands, H. Samuels, Ernest Jones, and Peoples Jewellers, are performing well and remain part of the portfolio, while Banter is under evaluation.
Signet plans to invest in store renovations, touching approximately 30% of its fleet, with a focus on enhancing brand presence and store experience. Redesigns are also planned for the Kay, Zales, and Jared websites to provide a more curated and intuitive customer journey, expected to be completed by the third quarter.
Shareholder Returns and Financial Management
Signet’s Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.35 per share for the first quarter of Fiscal 2027, representing a nearly 10% increase and marking the fifth consecutive year of dividend growth. During Fiscal 2026, the company repurchased approximately 3.1 million common shares for $205.2 million.
The company ended Fiscal 2026 with $874.8 million in cash and cash equivalents, and total liquidity of approximately $2.0 billion. Inventory levels remained consistent year-over-year at $1.94 billion, despite record commodity costs and a dynamic tariff environment.
