Coordinated Robberies Target Manhattan and Brooklyn Stores

New York City Police are actively searching for a trio of women accused of orchestrating a series of jewelry store robberies across Manhattan and Brooklyn, netting over $41,000 in stolen merchandise. The coordinated thefts occurred on Monday, March 9, with the suspects employing a consistent tactic of distraction to facilitate the grab-and-run operations.

SoHo Heist Kicks Off String of Robberies

The spree began around 2 p.m. at Catbird, a popular jewelry boutique located on Centre Street in Manhattan's SoHo district. According to the NYPD, two of the suspects engaged a female employee in conversation, creating a diversion. While the employee was distracted, a third woman allegedly removed approximately $31,000 worth of jewelry from an unlocked display case before fleeing the scene.

Brooklyn Stores Targeted with Same Distraction Method

Four hours later, the same three women are believed to have struck again, this time at another Catbird location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, situated on North 7th Street. Using the identical distraction technique, they allegedly stole around $7,000 in jewelry from a countertop display case. The suspects reportedly fled eastward on North 7th Street.

Less than an hour after the second robbery, the group allegedly targeted a Gorjana store, a nationwide chain, located just one block away on North 6th Street. In this instance, they made off with jewelry valued at approximately $3,500 from another unlocked case after distracting an employee.

Suspect Descriptions and Public Appeal

No injuries were reported during any of the three robberies. The NYPD has released descriptions of the suspects, identifying them as females with light complexions. Photos provided by the police offer more specific details: two of the women are described as having light skin, medium builds, and long hair that is half black and half bleached blonde. The third suspect is described as having light skin, a slim build, and long black hair.
