Liljenquist Beckstead Unveils Luxurious New Rolex Boutique in McLean, VA

A New Destination for Rolex in the Mid-Atlantic
Liljenquist Beckstead, a family-owned jeweler with a history dating back to 1978, has opened a new, dedicated 2,800-square-foot Rolex boutique at Tysons Galleria in McLean, Virginia. Located in the affluent Washington, D.C. metro area, this spacious boutique is situated in a prime spot along the shopping center's recently renovated main corridor, signifying a significant investment in providing a distinguished home for the esteemed watch brand in the region.
Lisa Colen, director of operations at Liljenquist Beckstead, described the new space as a landmark achievement. 'With this landmark boutique, we have created a setting that serves as a distinguished home for Rolex in the Mid-Atlantic,' Colen stated. 'Every detail was thoughtfully considered to elevate the client experience beyond the traditional retail environment. The result is a sophisticated, high-sensory space where the heritage of Rolex is expressed through exceptional design, hospitality, and service.'
Elevated Design and Client Experience
The boutique's exterior immediately captures attention with its architectural elements, including a distinctive sawtooth storefront and a bronze-brass façade. Travertine-framed display windows, enhanced by illuminated graphics, are designed to invite shoppers into the luxurious interior. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a textured stucco feature set within a travertine wall, setting an immediate tone of 'warmth, refinement, and understated luxury,' according to the retailer.
Inside, the design palette emphasizes natural materials and refined finishes. American walnut is used extensively for the ceilings and walls, creating a sense of intimacy and calm. Soft lighting illuminates the display showcases, complementing the rich textures of bronzed brass, beige and taupe leather, and accents in Rolex's signature green color, all curated to reflect the watch brand's renowned aesthetic.
A Space for Sophistication and Craftsmanship
The interior seamlessly integrates functional and aesthetic elements. The walnut ceiling extends into a sophisticated lounge area, which offers both private and semi-private spaces for client consultations. A dry bar, discreetly positioned behind a wooden screen, provides an area for relaxation and conversation. A particularly unique feature at the rear of the lounge is a series of windows that offer clients a view into the on-site watchmaking workshop. This allows customers to observe Rolex-trained watchmakers at work, offering a transparent glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship that defines the brand.
'We have created a setting that serves as a distinguished home for Rolex in the Mid-Atlantic,' said Colen. 'Every detail was thoughtfully considered to elevate the client experience beyond the traditional retail environment.' She further characterized the space as designed to move beyond the standard retail format, emphasizing shared values of 'excellence, elegance, craftsmanship, and exceptional client service' between Rolex and Liljenquist Beckstead.
Strategic Location and Brand Alignment
The opening of this boutique formalizes Tysons Galleria's role as a central hub for watch collectors in the Washington, D.C. area. The location at Tysons Galleria, 2001 International Drive, Suite 2524M, McLean, VA 22102, places the boutique in a prominent position to serve a discerning clientele. Together with an adjoining Patek Philippe showroom, the new Rolex space is part of a larger, approximately 6,000-square-foot area that includes back-office and service functions.
Liljenquist Beckstead, a family-run enterprise, operates four multibrand boutiques across Maryland and Virginia. This new, single-brand Rolex environment aligns with a national strategy by Rolex to establish purpose-built boutiques with authorized dealers, reflecting a shared commitment to brand presentation and an elevated customer journey.
