New Book Explores Creative Partnerships in Jewelry Industry

Celebrating Collaboration and Legacy
Jewelry historian Beth Bernstein and jewelry journalist Sonia Esther Soltani have collaborated on a new book, Jewelry Creators: Dynamic Duos and Generational Gems, which celebrates the intrinsic relationships that drive the jewelry and gemstone industry. The book offers an intimate look into the world of creative partnerships, spotlighting both familial bonds and close friendships that form the backbone of enduring brands.
“Each profile offers a touching, uplifting, and thought-provoking glimpse into collaboration and shared vision of the brands in the book. When personal bonds meet creative purpose, something extraordinary happens,” stated Soltani. Bernstein added, “This book invites you into the worlds of the talents featured—their highs and lows, trepidations and triumphs, and the behind-the-scenes tales that are interwoven in their jewelry, and that will be handed down to the next generation.”
A Deep Dive into Industry Relationships
The book features 22 influential independent designers, established brands, and gem dealers whose work is characterized by innovation, artistry, and wearability, reflecting a harmonious blend of heritage and contemporary vision. These individuals have either grown up immersed in the world of gemstones and precious metals or have discovered their passion for adornment through diverse paths, ultimately uniting their talents to create successful collections and businesses.
Notable names featured in Jewelry Creators include Lalaounis, Selim Mouzannar, Monica Rich Kosann, Jade Trau, Sorellina, Sethi Couture, Single Stone, Lord Jewelry, Julius Klein, and Walters Faith.
Two Chapters, One Vision
Jewelry Creators: Dynamic Duos and Generational Gems is thoughtfully divided into two main sections: “Dynamic Duos” and “Generational Gems.”
The “Dynamic Duos” section shines a light on collaborative teams of two. These partnerships can encompass siblings, parents and children, spouses, or close friends who have forged a distinct style by merging complementary professional skills and unique personalities. The book shares their stories through engaging narratives and previously unseen photographs of their jewelry.
The “Generational Gems” section highlights individuals and brands with deep-rooted ties to the industry. An example is fifth-generation diamantaire Jade Trau, founder and designer of her namesake brand. These featured profiles showcase those who have inherited skills and experiences from trailblazing ancestors, building their reputations through a steadfast respect for family values coupled with a drive for innovation. This section also celebrates designers who, inspired by their family’s legacy in precious metals and stones, are now making their own significant mark on the industry.
