DCA Unveils Modernized Learning Platform and Updated Sales Curriculums

The Diamond Council of America (DCA) has announced the launch of a new, user-friendly learning platform designed to make its educational resources more accessible and engaging for jewelry professionals. Alongside the platform, the DCA has significantly updated its Beginning Jewelry Sales and Advanced Jewelry Sales courses.
Enhanced Learning Experience
The new digital platform aims to simplify navigation and improve the overall learning experience for students. DCA President and CEO Terry Chandler stated, «We are thrilled to provide these updated courses for DCA members and the jewelry industry. Ease of use was a top priority in developing this new learning environment.»
The updates to the sales courses focus on increasing clarity, accessibility, and visual appeal. Key enhancements include new and expanded sections covering important topics such as lab-grown diamonds, pearls, and watches. The Beginning Jewelry Sales course is designed to build fundamental skills in customer engagement and product knowledge, offering practical training for both new and experienced sales associates. The Advanced Jewelry Sales course builds upon this foundation, with a deeper dive into customer communication, effective merchandising, and service strategy.
Commitment to Modernization
These curriculum updates are part of DCA’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its educational offerings. The organization aims to provide a more intuitive and engaging learning journey for all students. The new platform will also feature The Diamond Course and The Colored Gemstone Course, providing comprehensive education on diamond grading, lab-grown stones, gemstone valuation, and presentation techniques to assist sales professionals in guiding customers toward informed purchasing decisions.
Support and Transition
The initiative was made possible through the generous support of Jewelers Mutual. Scott Murphy, President and CEO of Jewelers Mutual, commented, «At Jewelers Mutual, we are proud to support the Diamond Council of America and its mission to make quality jewelry education accessible to all. We believe that well-trained sales associates not only drive stronger sales but also build lasting customer trust and satisfaction.»
Students currently enrolled in DCA courses on the legacy platform are advised to complete their coursework within one year of their original start date or by August 1. After this date, any students still in progress will need to restart their course on the new platform.
